What it is

The workshop will be organised locally by the Medical Physics Unit and the ASUIT Medical Education Service, in collaboration with the scientific committee that has been overseeing this initiative for several years. It will focus on the most advanced techniques used in the treatment of moving targets (tumours in the thoracic and abdominal regions) in proton therapy (in the context of treatment planning, monitoring and delivery) and will be attended by expert medical physicists, radiotherapy specialists and researchers from most European proton therapy centres. The workshop will alternate between plenary sessions, during which the latest advances in 4D proton therapy treatments will be presented, and group work sessions, in which the various professionals will discuss future developments in the field.

Traveling to Trento

By train

Trento Railway Station is located in the heart of the city center. It is well-connected by national and international high-speed lines (Trenitalia, Italo, DB, ÖBB).
Main lines: Brenner line (Verona-Innsbruck-Munich) and Valsugana line (Venice-Trento).
The Day 1 venue is just a 5 to 10-minute walk from the station.

By car

Trento is easily accessible via the A22 Brenner Motorway or the SS12 National Road.
Suggested exits: Trento Nord (if arriving from the North) or Trento Sud (if arriving from the South).
Parking: The city center is a Restricted Traffic Zone (ZTL). Please use paid parking lots nearby (e.g., Parcheggio Duomo, Parcheggio Piazza Fiera) or parking lots connected by public buses (e.g., Parcheggio Monte Baldo).

Day 1: Palazzo Benvenuti – Sala Nones
Address: Palazzo Benvenuti, Via Rodolfo Belenzani 12, 38122 Trento (TN)
Getting there: The venue is located in the pedestrianized historic center, a few steps from Piazza Duomo.
On foot from the train station: Exit the station, walk along Via Alfieri, cross Piazza Dante, and turn onto Via Belenzani towards the Cathedral (approx. 7-minute walk).
By car: Located in the ZTL (no-traffic zone). Park in one of the garages outside the pedestrian area and walk to the venue.

Day 2: Proton Therapy Center
Address: Centro di Protonterapia, Via al Desert 14, 38122 Trento (TN)
By public bus:
From the Trento Train Station or city center bus stops, take Urban Bus Line 12 (bound for Romagnano) or Line 14 (bound for Ravina), operated by Trentino Trasporti. Get off at the dedicated stop near the Center.
By taxi: You can book or call a cab via Radiotaxi Trento at +39 0461 930002.
By car: On-site parking is available for visitors.
